Donald Trump is thinking of getting into the Presidential race in 2012. Or something.
I have to admit that I would definitely vote for him over Sarah Palin if it comes to that. Well, first, I'd have to change my party registration from "independent" (not "Independent Party") to "Republican" to do so, since he says he'd run as a Republican. But hey, I am a free agent. Back in 2004, I registered as a Democrat so that I could attend the Iowa Caucuses. (I then changed back to "independent" the next day.)
I'm not saying that Trump would necessarily be good as President. But he'd be entertaining, and better than Palin.
Better than Palin is a pretty low bar to clear. And I'm not sure Trump clears it by all that much.

Well, I'm not really endorsing Trump. But do you really think it's even close between him and Palin?

I think Palin is as awful a person/politician as the next guy. However, I also think Trump is an awful person. Just not as awful. I mean, if my choices are Trump and Palin? Of course I vote Trump. But since any candidate put up against Obama by the GOP in 2012 will be absolutely horrible for the country (Palin? Romney? Huckabee? Pawlenty? shoot me), my choice is between Obama and x. And that's an easy choice.

Quite a dark thought, then - it is a real worry when the choice is not 'who do I really want to vote for' but unfortunately 'who do I not want to vote for, the least...'
