I realize that I may be nothing more than a backseat fantasy baseball manager, but I wouldn't have a fragile pitcher like Pedro Martinez throw 119 pitches in his first start of the season. . . .

Hmm, I only listened on the radio, and now notice ESPN.com has him at 119 pitches. But both Sportsline.com and Yahoo! Sports have him at 93.

Either way, Martinez did pitch too much to start the season. But, he sucked tonight, starting with his first pitch. Good. I hope the Red Sox tank.
