Okay . . . picked up my racing bib for this weekend's Zombie Apocalypse 5K race:
Last year, I was devoured about 2/3 of the way through the race. Hopefully I can do better this year, and this can be my anthem:

You could argue in a Clintonesque way that the use of the conditional "would" denotes a hypothetical situation, which does support his contention that he was speaking as if he were not the USC coach.
