WARNING: Massive Star Trek geekiness ahead!
Prof. Althouse has pictures from a gay pride parade in Madison, WI. Look at the young woman in the bottom right of the first picture -- the one who's all green.
Doesn't she look kind of like the green-skinned Orion slave girl from the original "Star Trek" pilot episode ("The Cage," later used in "The Menegarie"?):
Okay, maybe not quite as green . . . but still. . . .
UPDATE: Wow, I'm impressed that Prof. Althouse can identify the green-skinned Orion slave girl as "Vina." (update to her original post) But I've pulled a fast one here: Vina wasn't really an Orion slave; she only appeared as one in the induced hallucination to tempt Capt. Pike. However, there was a true Orion slave girl in the third season episode, "Whom Gods Destroy," in which Capt. Kirk and Mr. Spock beam down to an insane asylum that's being run by the inmates. One of the inmates is Marta, played by Yvonne Craig (aka "Batgirl" in the 1960s campfest "Batman").
